Proverbs 1:7 (KJV)
Devotional

We live in an era drowning in information and utterly starving for wisdom. We have instantaneous access to the cumulative data of human history on a piece of glass in our pocket. We confuse the accumulation of facts with the possession of intelligence. But Solomon draws a brutal distinction between knowledge and wisdom.

According to the wisest man in ancient history, the biological starting line of actual intelligence has nothing to do with I.Q., degrees, or data retention. The beginning of knowledge is the 'fear of the Lord'—a terrifying, awe-struck, deeply reverent understanding of exactly who God is and exactly who we are not. If your intellectual database does not begin with a profound submission to the Creator, all of your subsequent 'knowledge' is simply highly educated foolishness. True wisdom starts on your knees, not in a classroom.

"Data without reverence is just highly organized foolishness."
Reflection

Are you primarily seeking 'information' to solve your problems, or are you seeking the 'fear of the Lord' as your operational foundation?

Key Takeaway

The highest form of human intelligence begins with profound divine reverence.
